Green Frontiers was founded in Battaramulla in 2015 to guide society towards a greener way of living, starting with fast charging for electric vehicles, so that people could drive anywhere in the country without worrying about the next charge.
Our story
Green Frontiers (Pvt) Ltd was founded in Battaramulla, Sri Lanka, in December 2015 by Ashoka Ekanayaka “with the expectation of guiding the society towards a green world rather than a mere commercial interest”. The company set out to prove that environmental protection and viable technology could unite through sustainable business models.

December 2015
The rapid charging network begins
The Galle rapid charging station opened on 24 December 2015, followed quickly by stations at Ratnapura, Mawanella, and the Kottawa Southern Expressway entry and exit fast-charging centre.

February 2016
50 kW high-speed DC charging
Fast-charging stations at Godagama and Battaramulla reached 50 kW delivering 100 A direct DC, standing “among Sri Lanka’s fastest” public chargers.

April 2016
The Green Card and mobile apps
Green Frontiers launched the Green Card RFID payment system alongside the Green Frontiers mobile application, so that drivers could charge across the network without a membership.

A 20-charger network and Solar Drive
“No more memberships, outstation travel is now possible and we have a network of 20 chargers.” The same month, Green Frontiers took on solar power with Solar Drive.
